The Life changing story

Your response to your passion saved my life

It was on the 2nd of January where I woke up rushing to the bathroom to cough out alot of fresh blood. I didn't wait and went to my GP Dr Mkhwanazi , were his lovely assistant arranged my admission into Midmed as my medical condition needed further clarity with Dr Senamela who further handed my case to Dr Zelda Henning.

I was admitted on that 2 of January 2020 as I had excessively coughed out of fresh blood .After several tests , a fungal infection on the left upper lobe was dectected tracing back from 2013 .

Dr Zelda Henning of Midmed alongside her team of Nurses in the surgical ICU  together were passionately compelled to transfer me to Professor Ras in Netcare Pretoria east hospital to attend my case. There was no other way to cure the fungal infection on my left lung other than surgery at that stage . Dr Hugo Sarli was summoned to operate on me on the 10 th of January 2020 meanwhile blood transfusion was the order of the day as I had lost alot of blood every single day as I waited . I woke up in ICU on the 12 of January 2020 with a successful operation to meet Dr Willi Seiling , an infectionous disease specialist who wore , spoke and was of good cheer like my father who got on my case and prescribed helpful drugs . With the help of my motherly physiotherapist Eva , I began to learn how to walk and to breath properly again for the next 12 days but not without the heartfelt help of the Ward 10 ICU nursing staff , I had mothers, sisters and brothers in them . Tears never stopped to overflow in my eyes as to why the angel of death passed my bed. I am was finally discharged on the 29 of January 2020.

The first thing I wanted to do was speak to scholars about the importance of maximizing their young lives. I have been to the end of my young life and back. I have been motivationally speaking since I was 9 and inspirationally writing since I was 16, I have written over 20 books . I am now 24 turning 25 on the 12 September 2020 . What I look forward to doing after I fully recover in April is to travel around my beautiful country to share messages of amazing hope as I had the opportunity to write a life-changing book during my hospital stay .

I am grateful to all the amazing blood donors, the guys in green and maroon in theatre , the forever smiling porters and helpful nursing staff in ward 3 . Your selflessness survived my life. One thing I know is that it was God's doing in all of you . Keep up the great work.

This life-changing experience taught me that I should always treat truimph and tragedy equally, life will never throw at me what I cannot overcome for the grace to do that is available and that everyone is here for a reason and for season .
